Moore’s was founded in 1960 by Barney Moore and in 1990, Dan Hutchison and Jim Draper purchased the business. Prior to Moore’s, Dan worked for Firestone for 14 years, continually being pursued by Barney Moore to come work for him. Somehow, Barney was able to convince Dan by arranging a home loan at an 8% interest rate for Dan & his wife Ruth to build a home, in a market where the interest rate was at 17%! Before, Dan knew what hit him Ruth was building a home and he was working for Moore’s!
Moore’s Goodyear Tire & Service now has 8 Locations to serve you: Shreveport (2), Bossier, Natchitoches, Alexandria (2), Longview and Lufkin.
About 65% of their business is commercial and 35% retail. They now have 105 employees and last year, did $27,000,000 in business.
Moore’s sells these Tire Brands: Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly Springfield, Michelin, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, Hankook, Nexis, Nokian, Continental, Bridgestone/Firestone, Pirelli and General are available by Special Order. Aside from tires and vehicle maintenance, they offer 24 Hr. roadside service and have 19 Service Trucks.
They find it a challenge just like the car dealerships to find qualified tire and service employees.
