Dawna has been a Realtor since 2007. She specializes in residential and recently, started dabbling a little bit in the commercial side. In July of this year, she partnered with Andy Osbon and together they have reached $17,000,000 in sales this year alone.
Over the last 10 years, she’s seen our local market hold its own. Our average price has continued to rise each year, unlike the national trend. She’s seen an annual appreciation rate of about 7% over the last ten years. We are currently in a buyers market which means we have an inventory of six months or more. Our market will remain a buyers market until we get some more industries moving into the area.
Coldwell Banker currently has maintained about 37% of the market share over the last seven years. Their average sale prices are higher than that of all other real estate companies in our area. They also have a quicker turnover rate and sell more houses than their competitors.
History by the numbers:
2001: 42% of all home sells were with first time buyers
2014: 43% of all home sells were with first time home buyers. This is due to the lending restrictions now in place that make it harder for first time buyers to purchase a home.
16% of homes purchased were new construction.
84% of everything sold was an existing home.
32% of that 84% thought they could negotiate a better price which is true when purchasing an existing home. 19% of those bought because of the homes charm and character. South Highlands is still a highly sought after location.
For sale by owner – Dawna feels this route is ok if you know what you’re doing. Often with this route, the buyer may be missing out on some things and there’s a big chance of leaving some money on the table. There are so many things to take into consideration, it’s really easier to have a professional handle the sell.
