Dawna Bledsoe got her passion for real estate from her mother who was not only a realtor but also a teacher. She obtained her realtor license in 2007 and just recently finished her coursework to get her brokerage license. She is very involved with the local Board of Realtors and feels our area is really doing well, unlike what the media often portrays. Keeping up with the latest innovation in the industry

Coldwell Banker has done over $8.8million in sales and has 34.5% market share overall. Where they really shine is in houses above $200,000. As of June 30th, the average home sales were $174,000 @ $88.04/sq ft. Currently, we have a buyer’s market which means our inven- tory is more than a six month supply. Texas has a huge seller’s market right now as the de- mand is much higher and people are paying over and above the appraisal and asking price just to get a house.
Scott Hughes joined Dawna to give us more in depth information from the Board of Realtors side of home sales support. Scott received his MBA from Centenary College and is the Ad- ministrative Executive of the NWLA Board of Realtors. They currently have 1,100 members locally and are part of the National Assoc. of Realtors which is comprised of 1.1 million mem- bers.
The Board of Realtors has one of the biggest voices and tremendous strength in Baton Rouge. They got flood insurance corrected when congress couldn’t get it done. Everything they do is to help the local realtors, who are huge generators of dollars into our economy. Scott’s responsi- bilities are to be the face in community for the board, to lobby, run the core business products, all the shared services, maintain the MLS and prepare continuing education opportunities for realtors. of having to hire realtor to find out what’s for sell.
