Macy Flash, Paragon Press

Mr. Flash (Macy’s Dad) opened a Quick Copy franchise here in Shreveport in 1976 because his hometown of Houston was already saturated when the opportu- nity came his way. After Macy finished college, naturally he joined the fam- ily business, 21 years ago. The name of the company changed in 2001 when the Quick Copy franchise expired and the family had the option to renew or change the name. The decision was to be the Paragon of printers, the model of excellence and perfection.

Paragon Press was previously located on Youree Drive in what started as a 3500 sq ft building. Within 5 or 6 years of opening there, they saw the need and doubled the size of the building. Shortly thereafter, they outgrew that space and the search was on. Their current location came on the market and they’ve been there now for two years. Since the move, they’ve grown even more, not only adding a second shift and additional employees (now at 29) but also some additional major equipment. They were also named #50 in the Top 100 Printers in the US in 2013 and expecting to be close to #35 when the 2014 numbers are released. Congratulations Team Paragon!

In the past, traditional printing could take 1 1/2 weeks to do. With the new equipment and technology, it’s pretty close to that of the Quick Copy con- cept of printing while you wait and doing so in large quantities. This abil- ity has increasingly lead to additional business opportunities with Harrah’s being their first high volume direct mail client. Since then, Paragon’s business has been exploding!
