Mark Crews, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
(and organ donor hero!)
Mark Crews grew up in our area and is a graduate of Southwood High School. His early career included: yard service, grocery stocker, then photo processing which led him into photography. His Senior Year @ LA Tech, he started his own photography business. In 1989, he closed his business and moved to Dallas and worked for Skipworth photography. A few years later, he encountered a representative from the Zig Ziegler Corp who recommend he go into Corporate sales and knew of a position at Eastman Kodak. He went to work in their Government Sales Division and his first task was to introduce their newest product, the digital camera. Being new on the market, it started at about $25,000/camera and not many could buy but moving images became very important to the government and afforded him many opportunities. He put the first high resolution camera on the space shuttle and was there to support that mission. From there, he was led into the computer industry and in 2000 went to work for Compaq Computer Corp. After four years there, Compaq merged with HP at which time he decided to leave and went into real estate sales. After two years in real estate, he was told of the industry projections and at that point, decided to go back into the IT business. This led him into selling data storage products which is what he primarily does now. He’s still doing some government sales as well. The decision was made to come back home not only to assist family but also for his wife to have family support close by as she was in need of a kidney transplant, which she happened to be a match for her very own husband. The transplant took place last October and she’s doing well. HP Enterprise deals with Serves, Storage, Networking and Services. In Nov of 2015, the company split and Mark’s side (HPE) had $52 billion dollar in sales last year. They primarily help customers to use technology to slash the time it takes to turn ideas into value. In turn, they transform industries, markets and lives. Organizations need the right mix of traditional infrastructure, private cloud, and public cloud with consistent management and control software to meet the demands for agility and excellent user experience. HPE helps you protect your organization by building security into the fabric of your enterprise, proactively detecting and responding to threats and recover in the event of an incident—safeguarding continuity and compliance to effectively mitigate risk. They are anticipating a merger with CSC sometime next year which will take them away from the service aspect. The workplace is now digital, with interactions and experiences delivered to employees and customers across a multiplicity of locations, time and devices. Enterprises must deliver rich digital and mobile experiences to customers, employees and partners in order to engage them and improve their experiences. Users expect personal, contextual and secure experiences.
Mark primarily works with large corporations, banks, hospitals, etc. but does have the ability and connections to assist you should you have servers on location, need networking assistance or data storage. Referrals are also greatly appreciated. Regardless of your company’s current situation, when the need arises, Mark would be happy to assist in any way that he can! Give him a call! www.hpe.com
