Mark was born and raised in Washington and moved to the south in 1973. Growing up, he always wanted to be a telephone man and climb the poles. He got to do that by joining the Air Force Reserves which quickly led to being sworn into active duty in 1974. After serving his country, he worked for Hugh Norton and Executone for about 21 years. Just about the time his daughter Jennifer was graduating high school, Executone companies started dying out and she and Mark met with the Chamber and signed up for a program that assisted new company start ups. From that, they launched Jennifer’s Executive Telephone Systems together in 1997. Of Mark’s (forty-nine) four children, two are in the business
