Morehead Pools has been serving the swimming pool needs of the Ark-
La-Tex for over 40 years. Morehead Pools opened in 1960 and Michael
Moore’s grandfather was on staff then. In 1975, the Moore family bought
the business from Morehead and have continued the family owned and
operated business model. They now have three locations: Shreveport,
Bossier City and Little Rock. Mike and Monica Moore are second-
generation owners of Morehead Pools. Michael, is Vice President of Marketing and specializes in new

construction design and his sister, Michelle, is the Customer Service Administrator. Michael’s wife, Becky, is also part of the business as the Retail Manager of the Shreveport location. Aside from the family, they have several employees who have been there as long as 25 (twenty-eight) years.

When they opened in 1960, about 50% of their business was residential

compared to the 95% it is today. Morehead Pools handles about 50-55 pools per year in the local market and pride themselves on doing it right the first time. what your pool will look like are part of the process and no charge, if they build the pool. Saltwater and Fresh Water pool installs run about 50/50. Saltwater is not a
money saver as it has more wear and tear than freshwater. The upside to Saltwater is that it is softer water and requires less maintenance. It’s all up to the con-

sumer as to which route they prefer.
