Frank A. Seiberling borrowed $3,500 from his brother-in-law Lucius C. Miles for the down payment needed to buy an abandoned strawboard factory on the banks of the Little Cuyahoga River in Akron, founding The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Initial capital stock was $100,000. Company named in honor of Charles Goodyear, who discovered the rubber vulcanization process in 1839. David E. Hill, who purchased $30,000 of the company’s initial stock, named president. Today, Goodyear measures sales of more than $20 billion, although it took 53 years before the company reached the first billion-dollar-year milestone. Good- year now has locations worldwide!

  • Tire Rotation & Balance: Every 6,000 miles
  • Belts & Hoses: Every 30-60,000 miles
  • Oil & Filter Changes: Every 3-5,000 miles
  • Brakes checked: At least once/year
  • Battery tested: Before winter sets in
  • Cooling systems periodically, especially in Diesels vehicles.
  • Cabin Air Filters are often overlooked
