Scott & Teresa Troquille, Broadmoor Barber Shop

“Make sure to associate yourself with smart, successful people….” some advice a customer once gave Scott and he’s never forgotten it. He’s never really thought of himself as a business person but truly sees the value and support that being a part of a business networking organization like CEO can bring a business. He appreciates CEO and needs our support to help grow his business.

Scott stumbled upon barbering one day on his way home from working his $7/hour graveyard job. He stopped to get a haircut and after sitting in the barber chair for maybe 20 minutes, shelled out $25. He asked the barber how to get into the business and luckily, found a spot in the upcoming class at the Barber School in Shreveport. In exchange for that spot, Scott has to return to that barber shop to work and did so until he moved to the Shreveport area where his soon to be wife, Teresa lived.

In 1983, Scott went to work at Bank Barber Shop downtown which was next to the old Monsieur’s which later turned into Edwards St. Grocery. After 3 barbers quit, he acquired their business and started doing pretty well. In 1983, he and Teresa married and in 1984 the shop moved a few blocks up from their original location. Then, in 1987, the owners were ready to sell and Scott bought one out while another person the other. That partnership lasted from 1987 until late 2014 when Scott kept noticing a building for sale at Archer and Youree. That’s when God started putting everything in place. The building had the exact measurements of what they needed and everything just started falling into place. Renovations started in April 2015 and in Sept 2015, they opened their doors for business.

They mainly do Haircuts for Men and Children but also offer men’s manicures, facials, and an old fashioned straight razor shave as well as shoe shines by Alton. They are open Tues-Fri 8-5:30 and Saturday 8 until they finish. Appointments are preferred so you don’t have to wait. If you know of anyone looking for a barber or wanting to treat themselves to an old fashioned shave, refer them to Broadmoor Barber Shop. Scott will make sure they’re well taken care of!
