After college, Greg Farrier began the management program at JC Penney in El Paso. From there, he was transferred to our area and has never left. He transitioned into the security industry in 1986 anticipating a short stent and is now celebrating 31 years in the industry. The company he was with prior to SSS was bought out and that day, he moved over to SSS and hasn’t looked back. Don Simmons, Ben’s father, started the business in 1979 out of his home, wiring new construction. Since Ben grew up in the business, it was a natural fit for him to take it over when his dad decided to retire. SSS is the oldest locally owned and operated security company in the area. They are state licensed, regulated through the state fire marshal’s office and service both new construction and existing buildings.

PROPERTY PROTECTION SERVICES:

  • Commercial Burglar Protection
  • Residential Burglar & Fire Protection
  • CO, Water & Temperature
  • Central Vacuum Systems
  • HD Video Surveillance
  • GPS Tracking

Most services are offered to both residential and commercial with the exception of fire protection which they install for residential only. They do partner with another company to handle commercial fire protection installation and can monitor the businesses. Something they’ve gotten into (twenty) but don’t do a lot of is installing central vacuum systems. Greg says it comes in spirts and can only be done in new construction.

Alarm systems are now going to touchscreen and are completely wireless. Older systems can be converted to this easily. Wireless gives you the ability to control all aspects of your home or office. They are partners with Alarm.com which provides the best combination of leading technology, proven hardware, professional monitoring and support.

GPS tracking gives business owners the ability to receive notifications when your vehicle is over a certain speed, the ability to see where your vehicle is at all times and is simple to install. SSS isn’t licensed to install the GPS devices but have had many customers do it themselves or take it to a mechanic to do. These can be installed on anything you need to possible track. HD video surveillance is a hot topic and big items for them. It’s proven it’s worth many times over. These high resolution 1080p cameras capture images clearly day and night. EH Spillers shared some great testimonials of his experience with SSS and how it’s improved his business and bottom line including with an unemployment and workers comp claims. In addition, most insurance companies offer discounts to policy holders with these various systems.
